Proverbs 31:28-29 (NKJV)

Her children rise up and call her blessed;

Her husband also, and he praises her:

“Many daughters have done well,

But you excel them all.”

In case you forgot, Mother’s Day is being celebrated on May 10^th this year. It is the one day of the year when children are to be on their best behavior and give gifts to their mothers, while the husband’s treats her to dinner, and if all goes well... she will not have to do dishes that night. But if we are to stop and think about it, don’t they deserve more than “a day”?

When we stop and think about it: Who takes care of you when you are sick? Who makes sure there is food ready when it's time to eat? Who kisses the ouches, and holds you when it hurts? Who makes the extra effort to make sure that you have everything you need before you leave for school? - MOTHERS DO!

Proverbs 31 does not stop at telling us that mothers are to be thanked, but reminds us of her strength, her provision, her resourcefulness, her tenderness, her value, her careful attention to household matters, and so much more. To all the mothers, thank you for everything you do. And for children of all ages, don’t forget to tell her how much you love her, and say thank you often.
